Wireless Network Speed Problems

    Hi all,

    My Network setup is:

    BT Broadband
    ZyXEL 600 series pulled into Linksys Wireless Router WRT54G
    MY PC pulls directly into the Wireless Router
    and laptop roams around the house

    Anyway, Ive been having speed problems lately

    I rang up BT and they asked me to download a file on my laptop and I gave them the download numbers which were bad.
    They figured i was on a wireless network, so I plugged the laptop into the wireless router and downloaded the file via the ethernet connection, this was still bad
    The last thing BT got me to do was plug directly into the ZxXEL BT box and download the file, the speed were way better without using the wireless router.

    Why is this?? could I have a virus that takes up network bandwidth and is it just that the 54G isnt fast enough?

    Anybody have any thoughs
