When I opened Stars this morning, it was prompting for a new software update, when you click it a threat "swizzer" comes up and no matter what I do it stops the download and stars wont open. I have wrote to support.. but I wonder which century they will reply.

-2/-67 is the error code.. and it wont allow the program to run..

Anyone else seen this yet? I only have money on stars... withdrawel kicking in big time now!

    Arrrrggggghhhh

I downloaded the update fine early this morning. I'm on Vista Ultimate, if that's any help.

try uninstalling it and then downloading from www.pokerstars.com - and Stars Support is usually pretty fast

Wow. I really thought this was going to be something unusual to do with your pc, but I've just booted up now and have got a virus alert to do with pokerstars.exe and swizzer. I didn't get any alert yesterday evening btw when i last logged onto Pokerstars.
I'm also on XP Pro and I'm using AVG antivirus.

I wasn't sure whether to ignore the threat or quarantine it.

I was playing early ours of this morning no problem, I tried to unistall software and it wouldnt do it properly, did it manually and then downlaoded pokerstars again, exact same thing happened.

I have AVG, going to put laptop down and let it do a full system scan, updated my adaware and now its not working right... was last day as well..

Going to see what I can find out about swizzer now.. will update if I get anywhere. what a start to a monday :(

This seems to be an AVg issue with the latest Pokerstars update. there is a thread about it on 2+2. Pokerstars are saying to select ignore virus threat AVG. Here's the 2+ 2 thread http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showthread.php?t=114521&highlight=downloader.swizzor

Thanks for that. I had already tried to ignore, but it still didnt work, so I blocked AVG and downloaded Stars again, and thats it working now.

Not really an ideal solution though. Have you turned AVG back on after you launch Pokerstars?

I don't play on stars so much myself, so I will probably wait until AVG update their software to allow Stars to work normally.

Yes, all back up and running, I scan my computer daily, so just removed for this only. At least it wasnt my computer, relieved at that.

Pokerstars just wrote back to say the are awaiting AVG to correct and appreciate that it has been mentioned on forums. They sent a few links and different ways to sort it until the virus guard is corrected.

Fair play to them with there indepth reply.
