Taxback affected by jobseeker allowance??

    Hey

I was on to the tax man recently as I needed to get forms sent to a new employer. I was going to wait for my p60 before claiming tax back from 2007. I was out of work from september up until recently. So I had calculated what I was owed in tax but when I was on to the tax crowd, they mentioned my tax back and said it was a sum (half of what I was expecting). Apparently its reduced because of jobseekers allowance I was receiving. Is this right? I received the cheque and thought there would be detail as to how it was calculated but no dice. Anyone know where I can find the info?

    cheers in advance

    disgruntled

Are you sure it wasn't Jobseeker's Benefit (payment based on contributions and taxable)?
