Hardware helps win games....

    Before my hardware upgrade I was bottom of the kill list every time.
    No matter how hard i tried.

    But 2 days with my new 8800GTX and Ligitech G5 gaming mouse, I'm finishing up in the top 3 or 4 in most games...And i'm still only at Master Gunnery Sergeant I.....
    The GTX had the most impact, excellent FPS with everything turned on (85 - 90 avg), the images are sooooo mush better.

    The G5 gives real smooth action with adjustable weight and on the fly DPI adjustment, great when the map changes.
    Works on all surfaces, even my high gloss reflective desk surface, my previous optrical mouse could not hack it.

    All in all I'm very happy, but it cost a pritty penny to get :mad:

    Yeah I found it the same on CS:S when I got my 8800GT and DeathAdder.

    I always thought that good hardware + great connection = high skill.

    I now have a Q6600 with XFX 8800GT and I'd say I'm a better player than I was a month ago with my P4 with 7800GTX. Furthermore, since switching from Magnet to NTL, my ping went from 80~90ms to 30~40ms. Now I own much easier than I did before!

    Anyway, if you're in any way serious about online gaming, you know you need a good spec PC and a great connection...

    Of course! With a better card, you can see further, make out things more clearly ...try playing COD on 640x480 and see how far you get! :)

    I have an 8800 Gtx but I find I frag more on 800x600 or 1024x768 with all the pretty stuff like glow and specular map off. And its not because of fps either because I get 100+ constant either way.

    Yeah but you only frag because you play on Hardcore servers anyway! :p

    Just like BF2,you can see a lot better with the effects off but i just need them on.
    I dont care about my kill/death ratio.
    The lovely effects add to the games enjoyment immensely,i wouldnt be without them.
    Then again i dont play to be competitive :)
