    ok, i play texas holdem in real life, and a good bit on the net. Only ever played free games on facebook and bebo, and now i wanna branch out. some of my friends have said you can play free games that earn you entry to games for cash.
    what do you guys think is the best site i can play for free on?

    Green Joker Poker do "play money" tables in other words free tables as do most of the other main poker sites on the net, facebook poker is going to be pretty much of the same standard so if you're really interested in learning the game make a deposit into one of the main poker sites (you dont even need a credit card to play with ladbrokes/paddy power-just deposit in cash in the shops). Play the lower stakes and get a feel for real money poker as its the best way to learn

    think pokerstars.com probably gives away the most real money for free tournaments. I don't think Green joker poker exactly suits the OP's needs.

    if you want to avoid the huge fields on pokerstars try prima,i think they have 3 $500 freerolls a day with 7/800 runners,boylesports are on the prima network and they also have their own daily and weekly freerolls,their also handy if you want to play for real money as you can lodge/withdraw over the counter in their shops.
