Can someone tell me what the story is with pubs and clubs in england on a Sunday night?

    Do they open?

You might have a look on here .http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&sa=X&oi=spell&resnum=0&ct=result&cd=1&q=LIVERPOOL+NIGHT+CLUBS&spell=1

You could also ask about entertainment at your hotel /guest house your staying at or ask any black cabbie .

On a sunday night? Probably around Slater street, also some of the more touristy places on Mathew st (e.g. the Cavern & Flanagans Apple) might be open.

On any other night most of the city centre has decent bars, you could also try down around Albert Dock (although it's years since I've been out in the part of the city at night).

A bit further off the beaten track there's a few nice pubs up near the University (the Philharmonic is a good spot, most decorative pub toilets in the world!). Concert Square isn't bad either, a few theme/chain pubs but they're OK.
