That’s an interesting set of questions.

    Places:
Some of the well know good wave spots in Ireland would be in no particular order,

Bundoran, Donegal (containing a number of good reef and beach breaks - peak, main beach, pmpa etc)
Mullaghmore Head, Sligo - reef breaks holding huge surf in big swells for experts only
    Easkey, Sligo
    Lahinch, clare.
Strandhill, Sligo (runways and bluerock as well as the main beach)

Most of those places have a couple of breaks with their own individual names and characteristics.
There are of course lots of “secret” spots which I’m not going to list here which are not listed on any surf guides etc and can be better than the well known spots listed above.
The northwest of the country is the best for good surf in Ireland and I mean no disrespect to any other regions.

    Surfers:
As to who the top ten surfers in the country are, very subjective to be honest.
For competition surfers, check the ISA website http://www.isasurf.ie for recent results and standings.
There are lots of very good surfers who don’t compete for various reasons. They’re obviously not included on that list.
