White Collar Boxing:What's The Deal ?

I've posted on here before about getting back into boxing and was just considering the idea of going down the white collar boxing route as I have been out of the sport since my teens.I wouldn't be worried about the training fitness wise as I train for a couple a marathons a year and have recently got into triathlons. The thought of improving my boxing skills under the guidance of a trainer and in the company of people with little or no background in boxing is what appeals to me and would probably be a good way of easing myself back into the sport.Anyone have any experience of white collar boxing or know of anyone who took up the challenge and became a so called "white collar boxer"

White collar boxing is quite expensive and not done in many areas, mainly business men, is this what your looking for?

Cowzer, ur probably thinkin of the shows run by tommy egan and these would be pitched at this market but roddy collins does a version of this where you can just train outta his gym and he puts on a show in the gym every couple of months and is a much cheaper alternative!

Yeah your right, it should probably be called blue collar boxing :D:D Its just a bunch of lads who train in the gym and roddy puts on a show every now and again, the lads pair themselves up in terms of weight & ability so nobody gets humiliated and they dont announce a winner (roddy usually refs the bouts). just normal Joes having a go and its a bit like watching newcastle playing a 1-1-9 formation ...NO DEFENCE lol and its great craic, a good nights entertainment!!!! and for anybody willing to give it a go its not intimidating like some gyms. Would deffo recommend it for anyone who is interested, I love the sport but too much of a wimp to put my neck on the line haah, it just looks too much like hard work lol
