The screen on my PowerBook has always been a bit dark. It's fine for writing, webbing, etc, but not great for watching DVDs - for instance, when I got The Motorcycle Diaries out of Laser, I was peering at black shapes against a black background, making the film even harder to understand.

If I change the screen resolution for watching DVDs, would that help? I already have it set to the brightest brightness.
