Bios Password Issue

    Hi,

Having a spot of bother with a Toshiba Laptop. It has all of a sudden developed a Bios password. The user never set any such password. I've not got my hands on the laptop yet but I'm thinking of maybe restting jumper pins located on mother board?

Any suggestions or has anyone come across this before?

Yeah Clearing the CMOS is what you need to do, methods can vary, most common is just remove mobo battery for 10 mins while all powers off and then replace it and power on ;)

Check the model number up in google with "Bios Password" to see if anyones encountered it before, there maybe backdoor passwords that Toshiba or the bios manufacturer use which might be known now. Clearing jumpers on the motherboard of a laptop is a tough task, try finding the system bios battery and see if you can remove it , on newer laptops is easy enough but not on some older models.
