If it fires a laser then im happy :P

If it had the rate of fire and the computer controls I'd buy an Airsoft version.

The only problem would be the mags. I believe they are a bit on the bulky side (annoying since they are supposed to be caseless rounds)

Awww man, come on..........that hurts my eyes even looking at it, the FAMAS looks sweet comapared to that, I like 'odd' guns, but that.....its a rectangle!!:p

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,984 ✭✭✭NakedDex

The mags are three quarters of the length of the gun, they feed in from the top in a P90 fashion and can carry one in-use mag and two spares side by side on the rifle itself. It's an amazing rifle in RS but it hasn't been sent into any real production run by H&K so I doubt we'll see an airsoft version of it since the RS version is only an experimental.

Nonex mentioned before that he had fired them and found them excellent.

Looking at it though, it wouldn't be a difficult aeg to make. The problem is, there are some excellent production RS rifles out there without an airsoft version, such as the MTAR-21 Tavor and the Magpul Masada. There's a lot of people shouting at airsoft companies for those for a long time and it's only now they've gotten around to r&d on them.

Yeah I realised that after, it only came out a short while ago, same crowd that make the Galil, can't remember the name. I know Star are looking at making one too, that's where I got the idea from.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,984 ✭✭✭NakedDex

It's the Masada. I've been reading about it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,341 ✭✭✭Fallschirmjager

i seem to recall that h&k had given up on that model.

as for the design...jeasus must have taken 20 minutes with a crayon.

Nope. The N64 Klob was closer to the Calico.

The Klob sucked major ass though as I recall. The RPC90 (P90) was sweet though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,984 ✭✭✭NakedDex

I thought the Klobb was a Vz. 61?

The P90 was a beast in that game.

I'm working from memory but you might actually be right. Now that I think about it, the Klob had that fold-over stock thing. I knew jack about guns back then so I may have it skewed in my mind.

Oooohhh the memories. I'm on a Goldeneye marathon now. Damn all of you. As far as I can tell, the Klobb is indeed a Vz.61 Scorpion, albeit a chrome one.

Now to try and name ALL the Goldeneye guns...

The "Sniper Rifle" is the Dragunov anyway.
    KF7 is an AK47
    PP7 is actually a PPK
    DD44 is a Tokerev 33 (TT33)

It's a work in progress. I'm starting Goldeneye again!

It was mostly a concept weapon with regards to the amount of patents they put on it. Almost all of it was straight from the designers table. As for what it looks like?
They were German engineers? What do you expect? It shoots like a laser, looks like a housebrick.

Now if the Itallians had done it, that would have been reversed...........

Built by Germans. Designed by architects.

... seriously, 3 storeys of gun. Yet, if someone could build a 8 shell capactiy semi-atuomatic grenade launcher for it I would buy one :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,984 ✭✭✭NakedDex

If you read up on the history of it, apart from being a devastating rifle/cannon system, it was actually quite succesful toward the end of it's development, whic actually came as a total shock to H&K. They were using it to fund the development of the MP7, G36 and XM8 as "components". The idea and contract was scrapped by the US so H&K ceased development of the OICW as a whole, put the finishing touches to the various modular parts, and came up with an entirely new generation for their line on the complete cheap. Those clever Germans

It was set for Futurewarrior integration too.

The top bit is a computer aiming, guidance and control system for the middle bit, which is actually a 10 round semi automatic 22mm cannon (40mm nade launcher on steroids with anti tank capability). 2 rounds per second too, not bad given the power.

The bottom bit is actually just an early prototype G36 in a wierd body, it detaches and can be used as normal too.

ZMG = Either the MAC-10 or the UZI ... I'm erring on the side of the UZI

Didnt the bottomo bit later become the proto-type XM-8?

The computer control thingie is nifty though. Air Burst fun-ness.

Like I said though, one of those in airsoft with a cycling 40mm capacity would be SERIOUS fun.

Ahh memories. The Caseless Ammo gun. I remember reading about
it years and years ago. They also were designing a covert type one that folded up like a suit case. Thought the design was dropped. Years later when I saw
the P90 I thought thats what finally was made as a result of all the tests
and they never bothered with the caseless stuff.

(I loved the look at the time and I guess I still do)

The bottom bit was originally an XM8, then an MP7, then a G36.
XM8 was scrapped in favour of something smaller, which was the MP7.
This was then scrapped for something with more range and power which gave us the G36.
The G36 project hadn't a lot left to do to become the one we know and love today and that was already contracted to the Bundeswehr based on experimental performance tests on the G36 unit in the OICW.
The new G36 later spawned the actual XM8 due to improvements made and the attempted winning of the US next gen rifle contract.
The MP7 came directly from the OICW almost as-is.

No I think the ZMG was a MAC. It was too boxy for an UZI and it had no stock. Also it had a flat top that always reminded me of a MAC.

What the heck was the Phantom? I'm playing the Frigate level now and can't suss it.

I'd agree on the MAC only its got the bulbous handle of the UZI.

The Phantom looks ... well it doesnt look like anything really does it?

If anything I'd say it was a UMP with a ris and extended barrel. Weird looking thing and where was it in the multiplayer?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,984 ✭✭✭NakedDex

Oh yeah, it wasn't available. I forgot that. It was damn cool gun too. Duel wielding that through the boat was the business. As I'm happily demonstrating now!

    Edit:
Ooooohhh, the "Magnum revolver" is a Blackhawk .357

G11 ... ah ... sweet memories. One of the most ugliest guns in universe, but I don´t care. I love the idea of caseless ammo, by my opinion it´s a only way how carry more ammunition to the combat.
G11 was, actually, really ordered by West German Bundeswehr in the end of eighties, but due the revolution in ´89 (and cost of gun) all project was scrapped. Bundeswehr pick cheapest variant of gun, G36, and I think even it is step back, that it´s not wrong choice.
I don´t think, that somebody will make AS copy of G11 in mass production ... but never give up, right?

zmg is a mini uzi, look at the lines on the sides, and the shape, also 32 round mag, like the 32 rounder for an uzi. 25 32 and 40 if I remember where the capacities for uzi's.

Sniper rifle wasnt a dragonov though was it? Looks nothing like it.

    rcp90 was a p90

    Rocket launcher was an rpg7

What was the cougar magnum now answer that me bucko's

Edit: on topic, I dislike the ugly heckler and koch, who liked the acr? The caseless steyr.

Edit 2: cougar is a rugar blackhawk

The magnum was a blackhawk .357.

The ZMG was definitely not an Uzi. And I'm fairly certain the rocket launcher was a stinger with a body kit. RPG7s look totally different.

The G11 was the best caseless weapon made. The ACR had horrible problems and looked ugly

And the G11's burst fire could get off 3 rounds before the recoil hit your body, perfect groups!

ZMG is a micro uzi, look at the sloped lower receiver.

TBH all the guns in goldeneye were way to haphazardly rendered to be realistic, but the zmg was based on a micro uzi.
I found a list of names from the beta stage that confirmed this thats how I got the cougar magnum, would never have got that myself.

The rocket laucher is only an rpg7 as far as the rockets look and handle shape, but this is pointless, none of them were bound by reality :D
Badly rendered guns, but great game!

    On topic

ACR is ugly, so is the hk.

I know I wont be holding out for an airsoft model, and I dont expect one unless its a once off, not really a market.

thats just fugly and i usauly love odd shaped guns like the FAMAS but the G11 is just bad

However thats just the looks it sounds pretty impressive on performance
