Xbox update problems!!

Hey..My friend just got a 360 for xmas there and for some reason his xbox wont download the update...He is using the eircom netopia router and i was hoping some of ye would have any idea on how to fix this problem..His connection is fine because we also tested this on xbox dashboard.PS i have a 360 and same router as him…

Type in internet browser on pc connected to router http://192.168.1.254, Click firewall button to left and set it to "low" and save changes, xbox live should now connect ok

I had this problem too. Just do exactly what yoyo said and you'll be grand although in future you'd get a better response for your questions in the xbox forum
