    Hi,
If anyone is planning on travelling from New York to Dublin soon, I have a proposition :D

Basically, I'm looking to get this: http://www.moversupply.com/index.cfm?pageID=396&catID=1&pic1=p04.jpg&pagenumber=4 but because it's size (44 x 10 x 20 inches) it's going to cost me about $255 plus duties and everything on top to ship. If anyone is planning on flying over and hasn't got a lot to bring over and would be able to order this and take it with you, I'd meet you at the airport and pay you the full cost of it and drop you off to wherever you're going from the Airport :p

My budget for this product is about €250, it costs €150 to buy from the website above, so if it only costs say €30 to get on the plane, I'll pay €70 as a thank you too!

Kinda desperate for this but can't afford the high shipping costs so if anyone could help and want to cut a bit off your flight cost, let me know :)

Hehe, I could probably do it myself but I want to KNOW it's going to handle a piano, so would prefer to put my faith in something that's been tried and tested and built specifically for the job ;)

Anyone have any idea how much it would be to put something like this on a plane you were a passenger in? Think it's about 20lbs.

Ok, found out, it's about 20KG, not lbs, would something this size and weight be ok on a passenger airline?

Rang up Aer Lingus there and the size of this is actually not a problem, once it's under 32KG and can fit in the cargo hold, it's fine and will be included in the baggage allowance.

So this being about 20KG will allow for about 10KG more in another bag, and then cabin baggage of 6KG too.

So if anyone is flying over as long as all your stuff is under 16KG, then this wont add anything to the price of the trip!

They may get a hernia though. :)

I hope someone replies positively but I think it's a lot to ask someone to carry a 20kg package from New York IMHO. Good Luck !

Sure it has wheels, they can use it to wheel the other 16KG around the airport :D

    It's little effort for €100 anyway ;)

I think you're ignoring the opportunity cost of those 16 kgs.
Anyone I know would easily fill up 40 kgs of luggage allowance
on shopping in the US and save far more than €100 ;)

I reckon your best bet would be to organise a weekend break for yourself
    in NY.

If anyone is going over for business it would be an easy way to make 100 bucks and to save me €130 and you get a free lift home from Dublin airport too :D

So you want someone to go to the shop, purchase the item, transport it to the airport and use more than half of their baggage allowance getting it back.(do you realise how heavy 20kgs is to lug around?).

And you are going to give said person 100 euro!

    Best of luck:D

20KG is only the weight of a bag of cement :)

But yeah, ideally they'd buy it online, have it delivered to their door, bring it to the airport, on the plane and I'd pay them €250 to cover buying it (€150) and they'd keep the rest (€100) and then drop them home somewhere in Dublin. 16KG is still a lot to be able to bring on a plane if somebody was just going for a weekend trip.

Oh by the way, it's actually free delivery anywhere in the 48 contiguous US states so it doesn't have to be NYC only :)

I know it's a big favour to ask, but it'd be helping me out and not too much effort for €100. The trolleys at the airports would take it no probs.

Just won a brand new one of these at Auction on Ebay for $60, shipping to the US will be $30 and my friend is going over at the end of March and said he'd bring it back no problem and shrugged without care when I mentioned it was 20KG, so I could end up getting this for less than €62 total :D

If I end up shipping it, it will be $240 to ship with USPS, I wonder how likely it would be that it would get stung by customs with USPS though?...
