The fight looks to be on:

"Kelly Pavlik's first defence of his united WBC and WBO world middleweight titles is to come against Ireland's John Duddy on June 7.

The pair are to meet at Madison Square Gardens on June 7, following Pavlik's rematch next month against Jermain Taylor.

Duddy has a build-up fight in New York on February 23 on the undercard of the heavyweight unification fight between Wladimir Klitschko and Sultan Ibragimov."

Best of luck to duddy but it sounds like another Bernard Dunne to me.Pavlik should have too much of everything for him and it could be nasty.

Why does Duddy and his camp want to fight Pavlik now?Do they think he is of the same class?just a question, because i never understand it,surely Duddy could make a few more quid fighting in the garden before this one.

I genuinely hope he does it but i cant see it

I know I often wondered that myself. I wish John the best of luck with it but in my honest opinion I can only see one (early) outcome in favour of pavlik!

But what if taylor beats pavlik will duddy still fight pavlik or will it be taylor???

I don't see this fight going ahead as i think Taylor will beat Pavlik second time round.

Yeah the Taylor v Pavlik fight could go either way, personally i believe Pavlik will do him again but it will be a different fight so you never know-50-50 really, the best way!!

The pavlik - taylor rematch is at a higher weight and isn't a title fight.
