    25/01/2008 - 15:27:47

« PREVIOUS bmi has been named ‘Best European Carrier for 2007’ at the Irish Travel Trade Awards, making it the sixth year in-a-row that the airline has scooped the title.

The awards, which are voted on by Ireland’s travel trade, are hosted annually in Dublin.

Dave Walsh, bmi sales manager for Ireland said: “Winning this award six years running is a tremendous achievement and an endorsement of bmi’s excellent proposition in the European market."

I only flew with them once. They boarded the plane in Dublin and then told us it was delayed for 50 minutes but we couldn't use the toilets. They told me they'd hold my connecting flight but when I got to gate in Heathrow they said they hadn't been informed. Never again after that.

Fly to Heathrow a lot for soccer and in my experience get far more delays on BMI than Aer Lingus. Landed early one day and spent an hour on the tatmac waiting to park as no spots available. Very frustrating. An hour on the ground after a half hour flight.
