Pilot for a TV series that never happened, but I got to see it the other day, and what can I saw, it was absolutely amazing!

Check it out if you get the chance.

yeah it was a great show, well pilot at least, pity sci-fi didnt pick it up but at least it got a dvd release which alot of failed pilots don't get. Like the pilot for this show called swirlie about a man who has an ice-cream cone for a head - bloody fantastic pilot never laughed so hard - the whole show was played really serious and was about the mob but theres this guy with an ice-cream cone for a head and no seems to think this is odd. Not sure how long it would have lasted thou as a show, maybe should have aimed for feature film or short feature.

Probably a stupid question, but was that based on the comic of the same name?

    yes.

I thought it was tested on Scifi.com and depending on the number of hits they woulod consider doing a full series, from what I heard it got a huge number of hits and scifi are only stuck in getting the funding together?

    but i am probably wrong

    fantastic pilot though :D

Mignola said at the end of '06 that Sci-fi weren't going ahead with it and the pilot has been out on dvd for about a year now and no word of anything else happening. Maybe with the release of hellboy 2 in august there might renewed interest but I wouldn't hold my breath.

And shouldn't you be at work now?

I am but its a capture day, most of the time is spent waiting for the computer to take in all the footage. means short bursts of lots of logging then an hour or so waiting for the tape to take it all in. On the last tape now.

If anyone is interested and doesn't want to fork out for the dvd the video is up here also:

    *snip*

I just watched it again. Freakin' hilarious stuff and very true to Mignola's style.

Sorry Gonzo, but I'm not sure about the legality of that.
