Excellent, delighted it won and good to see more comedy in FOTW.

Don't know what to say about it other than it really is hilarious. The first time I saw Jack Black kick Baxter over the bridge I think I had to pause it until I stopped laughing :)

One of few comedies I can still watch and probably laugh as hard as I did the first time I saw it.

Can never be bettered. Seriously, they should stop making comedies now, it's been nailed.

Such a great drunk movie. Come in from a night home with a few people, stick it on and proceed to piss yourself laughing.
Stellar performance from everyone involved and just never gets old.

A great film. I find myself laughing to myself around work when I start thinking of it. For those who haven't seen it, "Wake Up Ron Burgundy" is also fantastic. It's a film made of all the sections they cut from Anchorman. I thought it was funnier than Anchorman, but I was very, very drunk at the time!

Absolute genius, up there with Dumb & Dumber and Airplane as one of the best comedies ever made.

Ron Burgundy: Boy, that escalated quickly... I mean, that really got out of hand fast.
Champ Kind: It jumped up a notch.
Ron Burgundy: It did, didn't it?
Brick Tamland: Yeah, I stabbed a man in the heart.
Ron Burgundy: I saw that. Brick killed a guy. Did you throw a trident?
Brick Tamland: Yeah, there were horses, and a man on fire, and I killed a guy with a trident.
Ron Burgundy: Brick, I've been meaning to talk to you about that. You should find yourself a safehouse or a relative close by. Lay low for a while, because you're probably wanted for murder.

    Genius.

Although Ferrell is the star of the show, Steve Carell really made this for me. Had me laughing as much as Ferrell anyways!

Brilliant film, I am also delighted cause I suggested it for this week.

Prop the finist comedy since Animal House- and Carell nearly steals the show.
''Brick shot a guy!''. Ferells crowning acheivement indeed Karl. I felt his 'Frank the Tank' from Old School came close, but the overall quality of Anchorman sawed it.
    Give Paul Rudd bigger roles!

I think it briefly suffered from slightly over-zealous cultural awareness (at one point in my school you couldn't turn a corner without hearing a quote or impression which was moderately annoying), but luckily it calmed down.

It is probably the funniest outright comedy in quite a while. Of course, there are hit and misses, but the hits are often top range. The whole battle scene is a masterpiece in comic surrealism, while I don't think I stopped laughing for ten minutes in the cinema after the dog got kicked off the bridge.

    In conclusion:
Ron Burgundy: Boy, that escalated quickly... I mean, that really got out of hand fast.
Champ Kind: It jumped up a notch.
Ron Burgundy: It did, didn't it?
Brick Tamland: Yeah, I stabbed a man in the heart.

Ron Burgundy: Brick, I've been meaning to talk to you about that. You should find yourself a safehouse or a relative close by. Lay low for a while, because you're probably wanted for murder.

I liked it but I think it sufferred from having everyone using the quotes from the movie.

Thats the good thing about me only seeing it for the first time last year, i didnt have a clue what people were talking about when they were quoting it.

Incase anyone doesent know(and many dont) there is an alternative version of this Movie! called- Wake up Ron Burgundy: The Lost Movie

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0423505/
it was made from dropped sub-plots and alternative takes and although it obviously isnt as good as the theatrical version some of it is hilarious.

    example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3FMQ9IVAUzA
Ron Burgundy rips the lid off it!

    THE MAN PUNTED BAXTER!

has there been a more quotable filme ever released, ever?

I saw wake up Ron Burgundy, some cracking jokes in there as well..

See previous FOTW Life of Brian.

Anchorman wasn't as bad as I expected it to be. Still not good though, and next to Python, really...

    I hated Anchorman!

I'll never get why everyone likes it so much

Just watched anchorman last week, seeing Jack black with baxter and Ferrel's response was brilliant.

I completely fail to see the attraction in this, or any of Ferrel's other films. Neither clever nor inventive, I'd forgotten it by the next day. Remembering it now just baffles me as to what the appeal is. Blades of Glory was the same story (not the film's plot).

I guess you have to be a fan of surrealism. I loved this movie... will ferrell hasn't been as good since.

Although the persistant quoting of it in the months that followed its release was annoying, it proved how well this movie resonated with people. People quoted it because they knew it would make you laugh.

I know a guy in work that will physically throw something at you if you say anything like:

    "I love lamp!"
"Milk was a bad choice"... etc

EDIT: Its actually funny reading some of the user reviews of Anchorman on metacritic, because people either love it and give it a ~9/10 or hate it and give it a ~1/10. Its the movie version of marmite
