We're hoping to book a holiday to Thailand, starting off in Bangkok so would be looking to fly from Dublin or London, if need be.
Is there any site that anyone knows of that I can get a full list of airlines that fly there as I am determined to get the best deal possible! Thanks!

    Hi,

From Dublin - Singapore airlines (I think) - definately Emirates from Dublin.

probably better trying kelkoo, or lastminute for a price comparison.

Oasis fly cheaply to Hong Kong, then you could get a cheap airasia flight down to Bangkok.

Thanks for the reply, I checked Oasis, they only fly from Heathrow i think, so that might work out as dear to fly from Dublin, Heathrow, Hong Kong, Bangkok.
Will check out the other 2 though. cheers

Qatar Airlines. I flew for about 800 return via London and Doha (in Qatar) two years ago. Really comfy planes with good in-flight service.

your best bet would probably be to first check bangkok airport and then you'll see who flies there and then work backwards

To BKK there is a huge choice deepening on which airport combination you want to do. With London, Paris, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Abu Dhabi being the main ones. Main airlines are: Thai Airways; BA; Malaysia Airlines; Emirates; China Airlines; Lufthansa; Air France; SAS; KLM and Etihad.

My personal favourites for comfort and service in economy are Thai and Etihad.

Use a site like this: http://www.orbitz.com/

Enter your preferred travel dates and you'll get lots of options. Whether you book through the site or elsewhere is down to you.

I flew to Bangkok and then onto phuket for my honeymoon. We went aerlingus to amsterdam and then china airlines direct to bangkok. You could arrange this with a day or two in amsterdam on the way out/back.

I flew from Frankfurt to bangkok via Coloumbo for 660 euro last july, don't thing you'll find cheaper than that. Journey time 17 hours. Ya can usually get to frankfurt for under a hundred euro.

Cathay Pacific or Thai Airways. Just put your search in www.clubtravel.ie and they will come up with all the airlines that fly on your preferred dates.

There are no direct flights to Bangkok.

Personally I'd avoid Oasis hong Kong as they are bit on the dodgy side...

    Hi,
For anyone that flew to Bangkok with China Airlines, how did you find the flight (for comfort, in flight entertainment and food) ? I'm also thinking of going with them from Amsterdam, but I've read a couple of negative reviews, and am now a bit tentative about it.
    Thanks a lot...

I flew with them last year and found them to be fine alot better than KLM who i flew with the previous time. There is no personal entertainment if your looking for that. The food is the same as you get on most flights. The staff are very nice not like the rude KLM staff. So overall i would'nt have any problems flying with them again. It was a pleasant experience.

Thanks for that. By entertainment, I meant in-flight movies (per seat) and music, that are standard on long haul flights.
    Cheers.

Flew China AMS-BKK back in Jan and they had personal entertainment on the way out but not in the way back

Personal entertainment was some of the best i have ever seen, video on demand, ability to pause movies etc. Was really impressed

On teh way back i was glad i had sleeping pills to knock myself out as it was just 1 screen for the whole cabin!

I'm always amazed that there areno direct flights DUB-BKK - every flight i have ever taken to BKK, from:
    Frankfurt (lufthansa)
    Copenhagen (SAS)
    Amsterdam (China, EVA and KLM)
    Heathrow (BA, Quantas)
    Paris (Air France)
    Geneva (or was it Zurich)(Swiss)
Has had at least 50-60 irish people on it

Surely enough to fill 2 planes a week?

By teh way to answer the original poster -my preferred route is DUB-Copenhagen-BKK. SAS have best planes, best crew and best connecton times from Ireland

Flew BA via Heathrow in December. They were great. Lots of options, but can be pricey.

Some deals with Qatar via LHR and Doha at the moment.
