Shannon's not the biggest town ever and were it not for the airport a spur off the Ennis-Limerick line or even a new faster alignment through it would be marginal, but now Clare CC and Shannon TC are proposing a "masterplan" and when you think of the Section 48 monies that could be piggybacked on that all of a sudden viability starts coming a bit closer, doesn't it?

The plan supposedly has energy efficient measures - it would want to have, 1500 underground parking spaces and nary a word of a choo-choo!
