I am thinking of buying a Honda Accord from Denmark next Summer as I believe that they have the lowest prices in Europe. I realise that I will be paying VRT in this country, but hopefully with low carbon emissions, it won't be crippling. Has anyone heard of anyone doing this??

Do they not drive on the other side.

For a brandnew (younger than 6 months and/or 6000 km) car you will have to pay VAT also.

I would imagine a left hand drive Accord would be difficult enough to shift after your done with it.

I'm all for saving money by importing but this option doesn't sound that viable to me at the end of the day unless you plan to run the car into the ground.

Just as a matter of interest, and in the name of saving money, what counties drive on our side of the road apart from the UK.

Buy a demo in the UK, 2/3 months old. Keep it in the garage or take the plates off and leave it outside the house until the six months is up. Good savings to me made. I done this with and Audi A6 on the 06 plate. Massaged the wallet to the tune of €6500. Nice.

I think they drove on the left until 1968 or so. Now, like the rest of mainland Europe, they drive on the right.
