I've jsut start playing ICO (only about 30mins in). Didn't even realise this was in production.

Ooh, this is interesting! I had wanted a 60GB PS3 mainly so I could buy Ico and play it (I originally had a playable demo of ICO but had to sell PS2 before I bought the game). But as they sell for too much on eBay, I settled for a new 40GB PS3. This is indeed a bit promising however.

Might be hope for me yet!

Kewlio. Is this going to be the canyon one where you fly around on a hang glider?

I think unoficially shadow of the collossus is Ico 2, even though its a prequel. They're all set in the Ico universe.

Ico and Shadow of the Colossus are two of the most highly rated games to ever appear on the Playstation 2. They didn't do so well commercially but they have become cult classics. In relation to regular PS2 games they are quite expensive to buy secondhand. They often appear on eBay for up to €40.

Same way SotC wasn't called ICO 2, its just the third game from team ICO.

I remeber there was a roumor about their new game. You had to fly around a series of huge canyons on a glider looking for something. The fun bit was flying down then, but then you had to climb back out.

Loved Ico and Shadow- played them both through. Beautiful and very atmospheric. Two of the very few video games that I consider to be the "fine art" examples of the industry.

The game's main designer considers the two games to be set in the same world with Shadow a prequel to Ico. Likely Ico 3 will have a different name but there's a very good chance he'll want us to visit that world again. I just hope the new tech doesn't go to their heads. The other games had a very distinctive visual style and I'd hate to see the game end up looking like just another next gen title.

That hang glider rumour was found to be false shortly after it was reported. This will be something different. ICO 3 is probably just the project title name and will be changed during development, the same way SotC was called Nico originally.
