    Hi everyone,

I am looking for a MA sport to help with my Fitness

    I'm 5 foot 8, age 28, over weight (14.5 stone).

I have 1 years Judo experience (Orange/1 white strip) when I was a kid all knowledge forgotten now. 7 years Gymnastics experience when I was a kid, Fat and stiff all over now. And went to a few UFC classes before coming to live in Ireland (Which a got battered in, but for some strange reason Loved every second of it, a punch to my nose always resulted in my smiling, don’t know why?)

It’s a sad story I know, but my excuses why I never carried it on was because of my love for my job ( had to do a lot of travelling), But I’m happy now settled in my 9-5 Mon-Fri, and looking to start back again.
I’m living in Greystones, working in Walkinstown and have all evenings off except Tuesday.

I’m not looking for a sport that uses sticks/swords/batons/knives, not really interested in Kata’s, performance routines, ceremony’s or solo balancing acts. Also nothing with loads of kids in…smacking you in the nuts for free.

I love full contact, full body usage not just punching, some people I can let loose on, fun, controlled, respected, clean, and honorable.

I can carry bruises, scrapes and T-shirt skin burns, sours/bruises all under my clothes(Suit), some black eyes depending on when I have important meetings, but nothing too major (leg cast/memory lossas / broken fingers) I have many people that rely on me and what I do in my job.

    Regards

    Wolf

Geez, what happened to the days when people put up one reply with everyone in it.

From west to east on the Southside
    SBG HQ Rathcoole - Rathcoole
    Three Castles MMA in Tallaght
Spartan MMA in Tallagh - http://www.spartanmma.com/
    Fianna Gym - Sandyford - http://www.fiannagym.com
Dave Jones NG in Loughlinstown leisure centre

And in the city (but still southside) check out Pinnacle Gym, I hear they're doing BJJ now.

    Peace

    Great Responce, Thanks alot guys...

Having looked carefully at all the Links and offers, Im swinging towards the Spartamma. Looks fun...and everyone seems happy! didn't think I would fall into the MMA area, but I did try it a few times in Danny Rushton classes in North West UK and loved it.

Going to try and get started soon.....hopefully Monday...

I know I'll be a punch bag for a good while, but I surpose thats always a good foundation to get strong and experianced on....

    Anyways

    Thanks Alot

    Wolf...

You won't be a punchbag Wolfman, we'll choke you out before we punch you :)

I've had a couple of beginners join in January so you'll have people of comparable skill to work with, along with the battle hardened guys to help you out technique wise.

If you've any problems finding the place, give me a shout on 0868151092

    Colm

    Perfect news...

I'll be there Monday:.....Other than myself/shorts/T-shirt/towel/Euro's do i need to bring anything else?

    fingerless mitts?/pads?/teeth shield?/First Aid?

Clad to hear a few noobies like myself there...I'm very much out of shape...,I will work hard, and very much used to hard knocks...especially having 3 younger BIGGER brothers....

    Wolf.

If you have a gumshield and groin guard bring them along. Some people grapple without them, but I can't grapple without groin guard.

If you have mma gloves sure, bring them along as well.

    See ya Monday,
    Col
