Oooh, built in rhythm section too! They look pretty cool. Hopefully they won't be much more than the current microcube.

Yeah and I just bought a feckin drum machine!

I'd say they'll probably be around the €150~ mark? time will tell, they'll probably hit the shops soon enough. The bass one interests me greatly. :)

    e200 on thomann.

I only glanced at the specs, but I can't say I see the point in the 4x4" speakers tbh. Yeah, it'll push more air, but meh...all you're doing is taking a tinny sound and making it louder, not a great idea IMO. I'd have preferred a single 8 or 10".

Some of the other features look good though...built in metronome/drum machine. Probably very basic, but dead handy. If it's got separate volume control for the line-in, that's another big plus, one of my main problems with the microcube.

    Yeah, looks pretty good alright.

Reckon the bass one will sound any good?

Heheh, I wonder if you could build your own "tower 'o cube" stack by lining out one to the other's Ipod jack. Then you *would* be able to use more of the effects at once!

Looks cool, but I notice with the 4 speakers the batteries don't last nearly as long (13 hours vs. 20 hours).

I looked at the specs and it doesnt appear to have a volume control for the line-in. That's a bit daft, especially considering it has two amp sections.

I think the 4" speakers would work well. Have you ever seen PJB speakers?

They use 5" speakers only, and a lot of them!! they have cabs with 2x5"'s and 4x5"s and beyond...

    Nope, can't say I have.

A 4" speaker physically can't push low frequencies. Now granted, im not looking for big meaty 12 inchers, but if you had asked me what i wanted in a 'bigger' microcube, i'd have gone for a bigger speaker rather than 4 small ones.

I love the ol microcube, one of my favourite gizmo's, but all the sound is *up there* and it kind of grates after a while...

If Thomann are gonna have the bass cubes at anything less than 120 I'll most likely pick one up! Since they let me down with that Yamaha bb I have loads of spare cash for gear.

It also has EQ controls and a footswitch input, that thing is brilliant!

edit: And a conveniently located power switch :D

I'm quite intruiged by that. Built in metronome/drum machine is a neat feature. I may possibly upgrade. Nice one.

Ok the whole 4 inch speaker for the bass really really confuses me. How do they expect it to handle low bass frequencys. Always said it was a pity they didnt have a micro cube bass but i dunno id really have to play so i see it works before id be forking out any cash for it.
