Powerpoint Presentation

Hey everyone, probably an easy question (even for those that are not techie boardies!) but need help with my power point presentation.

I want to include a video that I have found online. I have a URL and an "embed" command (or whatever you call it!), can these be used to put video into powerpoint?
I won't have internet when doing the presentation (I know you can somehow have a hyperlink in powerpoint - does this only work with internet??)

You'll need to download the video (is it from youtube?) using a site like www.keepvid.com, you would then need to convert the .flv file into .mpg or .wmv? to play it in powerpoint... There are free utilities out there to do this or a online one at www.media-convert.com...

Does anyone know of any good freeware for compressing a Powerpoint file, please? I've done the image compression thing, but it hasn't changed the size very much.

On this page - http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/powerpoint/HA011168821033.aspx - it talks about hidden elements that might make the file size massive, but I don't know how to find them.

Any tips, please?
