Just looking at the weather for Oberstdorf (going on the 7th to the 14th of Feb) and I see the sky is clear and the temp is up to 8 or 9 degrees!! The conditions yesterday were "100% open, conditions: powder, 20cm fresh snow" and now this.
Just wondering is it likely that this type of temp could continue and I presume it would mean bye bye snow very quickly?
I know I'm not going for two weeks, and a lot could happen in between, it's just I started freaking out when I say that temp go up yesterday evening. :(

I wonder would boards.ie pony up the dough to send out intrepid reporters to the more popular resorts to give the other loyal posters up to date and accurate reports???!!! I nominate myself, of course!!

    One can dream! :p

I think it should be the moderators privilege. I could combine it by checking out casinos in or near winter sports resorts. That sounds like a good business plan to bring to DeV et al :)

Next year we need to organise a boards poker and ski trip!
I'm not sure which would be more dangerous!

Snow in Schladming was ****e last weekend. The weather is WAY too warm!

Pretty much all of the alpine areas are too warm right now....with daytime highs hitting double-digits in the worst cases.

There's enough snow that you don't need to worry about it being green, but it could be slushy or icy, depending on where you go.

Good news is that it looks like it'll break sometime in the coming week....maybe even with some snow next weekend.

Man, this is as stresful as watching the stock markets!
The "future contract" I have open matures on the 17th in Andorra :)
I trust it wil be at least skiable, to be honest I can't get less snow than last year in Soll.

Snow report email came saying it's to be fairly cruddy hard packed and sunny this week but they are expecting it to go back to normal next week, so with the help of God it'll be perfect from the 7th to 14th.

I was in Livigno 2 weeks ago and even the instructors were wishing it would stop snowing as they had plenty.
Snowed everyday and on the first day it snowed over 60cm.(loads of avalaunches, few people killed off piste)
Only the last 2 days we were able to see the sky during the day!

Both j2ski and snow-forecast are saying after tomorrow it's clear skies and freeze-thaw conditions with maxes on the lower slopes up to 6 and just getting to zero on the upper slopes.

Is this bad? I'm going tomorrow. Please say it isn't going to end up crystalised crap!!!
