    Hi All,
    Does anyone know if the list of the beers on sale in the Abbots Ale House is available online or anywhere? They provide a delivery service and I am planning on stocking up at the weekend, it would be nice to browse their selection before ordering.

    For those who may not be aware of it, the Abbots Ale House is a small off license on Devonshire St who specialise in foreign beers. Well worth checking out if you are in Cork.

    dont think its online at all ....they were plannin it but i think it changed hands in the meantime. If you are looking tostock up for xmas then get over to bradleys.....they have a HUGE range of English ales 4 for $10. There must be 20 different ones to pick from or else pick them all.......much better value than AAH. also have a decent range of belgians and co at good prices....

    Both the Abbott's and Bradley's are fine purveyors of beer (Bradley's also has an excellent wine selection and easily the best spirit selection in Cork).
    Great value to be had in both. However, neither offer an online service.

    Bargains in the Abbott's at the moment include :
    Hommell - 6 for €10
    Baltika stout - 7 for €10
    and various Weihenstephaners.
    There's also some very good top end tequila and rum there at the moment at pretty good prices.

    they usually have beer gone past best before date on sale. Have any of you ever drank beer which has surpassed its BB date? would it leave you with a dodgy stomach the next day?

    Depends how much you drink ;)

    The physical effects of expired beer are exactly the same as fresh beer. It just mightn't taste as nice.

    The pub section of the Abbot's Ale House is good for a change of scenery. Nice touches like a fridge of beers where you pick out your own one. Sure it might seem like doing work that you should be paying someone for but it also gives you time to look over the wide selection on off. Also last time I was in there you could get a Mass (1L) of Bavaria for €5 and the same of Warsteiner for €6, those are good prices!

    All the Masses have gone up to €6 now.
    Pint = €4.60
    2 Pints = €6.00 (they are actually 2 pint glasses not litre)

    Still a pretty good deal .
