At the 6N press conference as shown on last night’s news, BOD used the “blip” word again in reference to the WC.

Are the IRFU/ Eddie/ the squad really so PR obsessed that they spend time working out agendas and campaigns against Gerry Thornley and other journalists?

Or are they just trying to foster a siege mentality for themselves by being deliberately provocative and then waiting for the media reaction?

The World Cup is the biggest thing in rugby, so for it to be termed a blip, would be typical of the Loony O'Sullivan regime .... until O'Sullivan is gone , my own interest in this irish team , of so much potential , is pretty limited ... too many let downs , and too much hype , and not eneogh substance

Did ya notice in the interview that BOD and Eddie could not look straight at the camera. Their eyes kept drifting away from the camera. They dont look confident at all.

This did not happen to any of the other captains/coaches being interviewed.

no s*** sherlock moment: "(the) World Cup wasn't as successful as we'd hoped it would be," said O'Sullivan.

slight understatement - abismal failure might be more like it.

i know its terrible, i don't want to get into the proffessionalism debate, but they do seem more concerned about soundbites than the results.

there was an article in the London times a few months ago about england rugby team being a corporation rather than a sports organisation, which i suppose is almost obvious. but its rather sad and this type of press conference b******s is eneviatable.

Unfortunatly, the post WC agenda will be to spin fans such as yourself as disloyal or fair weather, not "real" rugby people or whatever.

Robbie Keane tried the same thing on the Late Late Show after Stan was booed.

agree fully, was a big Irish fan , even before Italia 90 , but then the shambles under Stan and post Stan , is a joke ... similar with O'Sullivan , if the team had no talent , but tried fair eneogh , but the team is full of talent , and it appears factions, with a loony control freak manager , whose main concern seams to be money and looking good, rather than uniting the team ... so call me fair weather, but i really have very little interest in the 6 nations now .. Munsters progress would interest me much more.
