Well just one actually. Along the lines of not posting google answers less than 10 minutes after a question is asked like this here -

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055222977

Absolutely pointless and ruins the fun for people who might want to answer that question. What's the deal with infractions/bans in this forum?

so how long should we wait before the correct answer is allowed ?
and how are we going to know if people use google or not ?

trying to get people infractions or bans is like players waving imaginary yellow cards in football matches
    it not on

A lot longer than seven minutes.

Some people are actually honest and enjoy the challenge, an idea clearly wasted on you

Why not? You're ruining it for other people. I'd infract you if I was a mod but then again I'm not, hence the reason I started this thread

what if i happen to know the answer ?
maybe if i wait longer than 7 minutes i might not be the winner
i think we should be allowed to answer in less than 7 minutes

how about if i let you win the next one ?
maybe we can share the prize

    infract me for what ?
there is no rules for this forum
it doesnt say anywhere that google is not allowed

Exactly. Currently there are no rules. I'm asking for one. Nothing wrong with that

if i had known that this would be such a big deal i would have waited longer than 7 minutes before posting the correct answer. And i wouldnt have mentioned google
if i had done it that way would than we could all continue on in this forum pretending that nobody uses google

Most people don't. Believe it or not it can be quite fun to wrack your brains for a few hours trying to think of an answer. This is clearly something alien to you.

Also if you genuinely 'knew' the answer why not wait til the OP comes back to you instead of heading for google?

You're basically missing the point of the whole forum.

id argue the exact opposite and say that most people do use google but dont admit it
i think its a bit naive to think otherwise

Absolutely pointless rule. There is no way you can stop people using google to get their answers.

People just need to be clever in how they ask the question.
I thought your argument with green123 was hilarious btw.

Yeah it got me through the final two hours of work.

I know you can't stop people googling. The problem I have is that he offered an answer, then two minutes later hit google and posted the result. Why not wait til the OP got back to him and in the mean time leave it open for other people?

Because he wanted a prize ;). I understand your intentions, it's just impossible to enforce tbh.
