Gowran Park 2.45 Thyesthes Chase

The feature is the Ellen Thyestes Chase and it is going to be a thorough test of stamina. Newbay Prop will like conditions and comes here on the back of a good win at Leopardstown. His trainer won this race a couple of years ago and he is likely to be a short enough price, I see no reason to go against him but so much luck is needed in races like this that I will be looking for some value.
John Murphy has been having a quiet time of things of late but has a couple of runners and I feel that Don’t Be Daft is capable of going very well off a feather weight of 9st 7lb. This very useful hunter chaser will love the conditions and is a course and distance winner also. Last seen at Cork when well behind Parson’s Pistol over hurdles when the stable were under a cloud he ran really well to be fifth to Whyso Mayo in a decent race at Leopardstown last February missing Cheltenham and then managing a couple of wins in hunter chase races. Currently 25s, i was told locally ( cork) he was laid out for this race, dunno though, best of luck if you play.
