Hey guys ... have a compaq laptop that I bought in the states. I use a US - Ireland plug converter on it to charge it.
Is it normal for the power adapter to heat to a very high temp? Its possible to pick up when charging, but just wanna make sure.
or any tips for cooling etc?

Laptop chargers from the states are usually dual voltage (ie.110 for US/220-240 for EU) but just check on them to make sure. Most laptop chargers will get a bit hot alright when charging so I dont think its too much to worry about. Worst case scenerio you might have to get a new charger from ebay or the likes.
