Stuck Pixel Fixes

So I got a new laptop and its great and I'm happy with it and everything but one pixel on the screen is stuck red.

I've tried a program called Stuck Sweeper and left it running for a few hours but nothing. I tried tapping it but nothing. I tried applying some pressure before turning it on (saw this online somewhere) but nothing.

The only weird thing I've noticed is that the pixel is fine when the laptop starts, it just seems to get stuck after the screen heats up a bit. Does anyone know of any other methods to fix a stuck Pixel?

You could try and rub it out after letting the laptop warm up.Make sure,to use a cloth.Ive only ever seen this work once and i wudnt really recommend it as u cud end up damaging the lcd.

What kind of laptop is it and how "new" is it? Certain manufacturers have zero bright pixel tolerancy.. Also if its less than 28 days old most retailers will take it back under the satisfaction guarantee.. Or you could try UnDead Pixel, it worked on my 19" TFT monitor after two attempts of overnight flashing(2 x 10hours) for me.. Download it Here! ;)

Its less than a week old. Really happy with it so don't want to bring it back. I've never had a stuck pixel that I didn't fix before by tapping it is the thing.

Its a Sony laptop and it needs 3 because its a 17" screen before it'll be replaced.

I'm sure Pc World don't have a good policy on it.

I'll see how things go, it hasn't turned up today so here's hoping it just randomly fixed itself :D

Otherwise I might try the software and then the cloth idea. Thanks guys.

Sony definitely wont take it back, theres an acceptabe amount of stuck or dead pixels on a lcd.No amount of arguying with them will get them to replace it

You can pay extra to get a laptop screen checked for dead pixels in some places, (before you buy). Pity you can't check them in person before you buy. That said I've been told that dead pixels can happen over time any. I guess it depends if you are happy to live with it.

    Where did you get it?

Your best bet (and luck is a factor) is running a dead pixel fixer for many hours, might I suggest 24? and it may unstick, but then again, a bad dead pixel will stay no matter...

I've run the filter for ages already :( No luck. I'm going to try the cloth trick.

I hope it goes away on its own.

On the plus side, its far enough into the corner that I don't really notice it. I was drawn to it like a moth to a light bulb when it first appeared but I'm noticing it less now.

I got a HDMI cable today so I'll be watching my movies on my HDTV which has a bigger screen anyway so I don't think its too big a deal.

Thats not too bad! Have one stuck bang in the middle and that would be irritating! Cloth trick could work, but I've never done it
