One's a standard vsr-10 with a spring bolt, the other is a custom one that uses gas.

I have a marui VSR10 G-spec its a spring action rifle no gas needed just a little muscle to cock the spring with the bolt action. Its a nice airsoft sniper rifle.

I dont know anything about the other gas model you linked to.

I know you mentioned that it is for a friend in the US, but just in case you are getting it shipped here first, there is something very important to note.

The EAC VSR-10 CUSTOM is way over the legal limit for Ireland and is classed as a firearm. You will need a firearms licence if you wish to import it. The limit is 328fps with 0.2g bb's. The EAC VSR-10 CUSTOM shoots at 400-495 fps.

The Tokyo Marui VSR-10 on the other hand is quite a bit under the legal limit. At 275fps it's actually a little underpowered for us by a sniper in an airsoft game.

And FYI (I'm not having a go at you), discussion of anything that fires over the legal limit is generally frowned upon in this forum.

never noticed it was there, will use it from now on.

The gun isn't going to be shipped into ireland, I'm aware that it's illegal.

Just wondering if it would be any good? He is big into airsoft and doesn't have a sniper, how would the scop be on it? any good?

I presume the airsoft rifle is a modified original Tokyo Marui ?

Also, are custom builds by ehobby any good?

last thing, i don't get if it's gas injescted or uses capsules?

    thanks :)

If it's even going to be used in this country it will be illegal the second it hits Irish soil, regardless of whether it's by import or hand luggage.

Anyway, gas rifles over here are pretty pointless. They're unstable due to temperaturen and environmental attributes, not to mention expensive to run. They give no benefit over spring or electric. They're only of any use in countries with higher power ratings for their airsoft devices to be legal.
Assuming you find a gas rifle that does no more than 1J, I have several electric rifles that could match it in power and accuracy. And most spring rifles are even better for accuracy.

as I said, It will be shipped to his address directly.

that price seems decent for a gas one, assuming it's actually any good, the scope, mods etc...

Which powerful/accurate enough ones would you reccomend for about $350?

Tanaka would be widely regarded as the best gas rifles. Their M700 and M40 are available for around 360 or 370.
Marushin have some nice items too but Tanaka would be your best bet I reckon

As pretty as the gas sniper rifles are they would be a bit useless unless your had a contant tempature because when it goes up or down a few degrees your scope is off and your gonna have to re adjust which is a right pain

Get a spring sniper rifle with a good hop-up and your sorted. They'll never let you down

Springers are more reliable and more consistant. And if he's using it in the US then upgrading it is nothing more than a spring change. It's a lot easier to maintain and use too.
You're losing nothing in quality or power by choosing a spring but you're gaining a lot of consistancy and ease, and there's a lot more to choose from on the spring market. If you really wanted to push the boat out, the Maruzen L96 APS is about the 350 mark and it's kick ass. Short of that 200 would get you any very very good spring sniper, giving you enough change to add a few extras (scope, bipod, extra mags etc) if you wish

I've heard good things about this if I had the money and could get the fps lowered thats what I'd go for

Okay this is all going way outside the legal limit.

shblob, because of the law in Ireland, we restrict discussion to under 1 joule here. I know it's for someone in America but it doesn't really matter. I hope your questions were answered.

    Locked.
