On the edge of 3G...

Is this the right topic?

We have no other broadband provider or option except for Satalite. I've talked to digitalforce, kerrybroadband and scccbroadband and all have plans for the area in the future but not right now. I tried both the Vodafone and O2 3G USB modems...and...

In top of the house I can get a 3G signal from O2 (HSDPA)...yes!!! I might have an option...a glimmer of hope :-)

I'm looking at the following option.

- any comments on the above product?
- any way I can get an arial like this locally?

Be sure to check the card you are using will work with them though - best to ask O2 the make and model of the data card then give these chaps a call for your best option.

Also you need to point them in the general direction of the 3G mast so you need to know where it is (roughly - you do not need to be exact) - best way to do this is to have two people - one on roof moving antenna (slowly!) and one at PC looking at signal levels

Cheers, smaller in size as well. I have the O2 USB modem already and the package I listed above has a device which 'connects' to the USB modem.

Any ideas how much http://www.o2online.ie/wps/wcm/connect/O2/Home/Business/Business+Solutions/O2+Broadband/Multiple+users this is?

No idea but linksys do a really good one of the same type...
