Watch a few videos on youtube. Do a quick search and you'll find a few that are helpful. If you read a few random lessons you'll find they all pretty much say the same things.
As a technique the explanation is not too complicated but actually pulling off the technique takes a while. Just read a few things and start playing when you think you have a nice idea of whats supposed to be happening.
    Here's a few tips anyways.
When you start make sure you are doing it very slowly. Its the one technique you don't want to rush. Its all in the motion, bad habits will seriously harm the playing in the long run. I re-learned my stuff twice before I went down the right track. Speeding up will throw out your timing.
Pay real good attention to your left hand. As a rule of thumb you should only have one string pushed down fully at a time to avoid bleeding of notes.
Muting - some people use their right hand and others don't, either way can work well.

I'd recommend starting with 3 strings and then working your way up to 5/6. There is a bit more motion in the 5+ string ones so its good to have a solid base one the 3 strings to work off.
Its a motion thing. In the end it will all click and you'll find it really comfortable, and you won't have to concentrate so much on what your 2 hands are doing. Once you get to this stage it's all about speeding up and messing with shapes and tapping.
Spend time on the technique and it'll be worth it.

I'd agree, the cyberfret lesson isn't the greatest I've seen. Check the guitarzone forums. I remember there was a lesson or 2 there that had some good advice. I'm not sure if they're still there or not though.
Also the patterns played in the 3 string arps on the cyberfret lesson are a little bit different to almost every normal use I've seen.

    This is hardly ever used

    5h8p5-5
    ---6
    6
    -7
    7

That extra note on the 5th fret is fairly uncommon

    5h8p5
    ---6
    6
    -7
    7

This is what I see used much more often so practice that more than the other one shown in the lesson.
