Any camera shop will sell a lens cleaning kit. it should contain ssome alcohol, cotton ear bud sticks, a soft cloth, a blower brush and some special soft tissues.

I got a lens pen while in Boston at the start of last year. Was quite skeptical at first, but it really does a damn fine job.

The pen looks good. Any recommendation on the make to buy?

Look up Residual Oil Remover, great product, although I use the lens pens myself for the moment and will only swap over when it 'runs out'.

    Alcohol? That could damage coating.
    Demineralised water and microfiber cloth.

Same for me was a little disappointed when I got it in the post, thought it looked
useless.Think it's a great little tool now. (hamma lens pen)
I wouldn't be keen on having any bottles of fluid near my camera or lenses.

A glasses cloth can be used if you're really stuck, just make sure you use some compressed air first.
