    THE DUDLEY CORPORATION

The Dudley Corporation are Joss, Mark and Dudley.

Of "In Love With The Dudley Corporation" Q magazine said that the Dublin three-piece have 'perfected the whole stop/start, quiet/loud thing' and that something truly special was around the corner. Alternative Ulster placed the album at Number 9 in its albums of the year, one place behind The Darkness, while Irish magazine Hot Press lauded it as the 59th greatest Irish LP ever made!
It's been some ride. A phenomenal live workrate has taken them to the UK, America, Iceland, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium and Austria. Their shows are notoriously frenzied, visceral and exciting affairs with one song careering into another or stopping on a sixpence, as they say in football parlance. Past touring has also seen them take in shows with such luminaries as Pinback, Low, RFTC, Trail Of Dead and Stephen Malkmus.

In brief, they play short rock songs with wit, verve, romance and booksmarts. In-between bouts of touring they've managed to release two acclaimed LPs, several 7" singles and been on a slew of compilations. The Lonely World Of The Dudley Corporation was recorded in June 2001 at The Delgados Chem19 Studios in Scotland with Andy Miller and was released in Ireland/UK on Scientific Laboratories and in the US by Flameshovel Records.

In Love With The Dudley Corporation was made in the same studio in 2003, featuring appearances from members of The Delgados, Camera Obscura and The Tycho Brahe and yielded their first Irish Top 30 single, 'What A Human Does'. It was released late in early 2004 on Scientific Laboratories in the UK and Europe and came out in July 2004 in Japan on And Records.

In early 2005 work began in earnest on LP#3, with Rob Bochnik (Smog, The Frames) at the helm. It'll be called 'Year Of The Husband' and will finally be ready for release at the beginning of 2008 on Absolutely Kosher and Wireless Records.

    THE YEH DEADLIES

The Yeh Deadlies couldn't come up with anything themselves so they let someone else do it. Tsk! Pretty much nails it though…sweetness!!
"And so it goes that the evolution of the band name now reaches into the Dublin vernacular for inspiration. Are we running out of ideas? Buggered if I know, but judge not the yeh deadlies for their glib title, and instead cock your ears at their myspace, and try to get your head around the clutch of rare loony tunes they're after laying there.

There are four or five heads involved here and they seem a little bit, well, "touched". Amongst the influences mentioned on the site are mavericks like Sparklehorse and Tom Waits, two men who know a thing or two about taking a lighter and a can of Lynx to the songwriting rulebook. You can hear the latter on the industrial noise-funk of "AW YEAH ALRIGHT", which is a bit like witnessing Sly Stone let loose in a metal works factory. The shambolic organ stomp of "Funeral Suit" is less horror and more cheek, taking a much-needed pot-shot or two at the office-bound generation that we currently nurture around these parts. Avoid if you're a sensitive type working down the IFSC."
