    Folks,

I discussed this some time back but i now am 100% sure i have a "dud" crappy Canon 24mm/105mm lens.

This lens was purchased last summer from a well liked store on Ebay from HK.

I don't seem to have an official receipt but i have a paypal online receipt and can someone out there please tell me how i can get this sorted asap?

I contacted the shop in HK and they told me the Canon Worldwide guarantee covers this?

Sorry i just found th eold thread http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055152760

(i never got this sorted) i havent been using the lens and i was lazy about it)

Please can someone tell me what i should do? I am considering sending it by courier to the Canon place in Dublin i think the address fo rit is on the Canon Ireland website.

if it's coming up on a year old I wouldnt bother investigating sending it back to HK. Despite the fact that they wont want to know, it'll cost about 400 quid to send back there... Maybe more.

Ring Canon, ask them what the story is. Don't just send it to them, it'll get lost. Ring, discuss and get an RMA reference. Chances are it'll be going to Canon UK anway, I think they do all the photographic repairs.

Contact the ebay seller you bought it from. Shipping back is only €40-50.

Otherwise, call Canon repair centre (UK). You'll probably end up shipping it to them.
