Does anyone know where I can get Okra and Plantains in Dublin City Centre??
I got a Caribean cook book a while back and some recipies use these. Here are the wikipedia definitions of Okra http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Okra and Plantains http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plantains in case you might know them under a different name ;).
    Thanks!

You can get Okra (aka Bindhi) pretty easily in Asian shops like the Asian Food Co on Mary Street. Don't know about plantains though. I'd be temped to look around Moore Street (before they redevelop it!) ... I'm sure I've seen some likely looking shops around there when I've been walking down there.

There are 2 asian stores between Harcourt Road & South Richmond Street. You can get okra & plantain at one or other of the stores there - subject to availability I might add.
