FDN Failure

Hi,

Just popped a meteor pay as you go sim card into a blackberry pearl, calls are working but i get the following error when trying to send sms messages

FDN failure...

Any ideas or has anybody had a similar issue?

Press the green button to go to your dialling screen
Press the Blackberry(Options) button beside the green one
Select options
Down at the bottom you should see FDN Phone List
Select it with the trackball
Now press the Blackberry button again
Does it say Enable FDN Mode or Disable FDN Mode?

Hi,

I just checked the BB and it doesn't have FDN in the list


All i can see is.......

General Options
Voice Mail
Call Logging
Call Barring
Call Forwarding
Call Waiting
Smart Dialling

Any other ideas man?

have you changed the message center number?

settings
options
sms
service center number change to meteors

yes, twice and ive re-booted the phone but im still getting the FDN error, its wrecking my head.

are you getting GPRS in Caps on the home screen or just gsm
messages generally not go unless you are getting GRPS

The problem is you are not on a Blackberry tariff and Meteor do not support Blackberry
Because of this you will not get GPRS on screen which allows full usage
Also, do you get data connection refused on screen?

Yes data connection refused screen, I could successfully use Vodafone pre pay sim cards in this blackberry before, i assumed it would be the same with Meteor, i guess not.


Any tips for getting around this little problem? Or am i stuck?

Hey everyone just to let you know, it turned out ot be the Sim Card, it was too old, replaced with a new one and its working fine.

Hi - i have an 8707v from Vodafone - i just switched to Meteor - I thought that I could send and receive emails etc - even though it says that they support email on the site.

I have been trying to activate the emails for the past few hours - no luck. Keeps saying data connection refused.

Tried calling Meteor, but they are the thickest bunch of support staff - don't know their GPS from GPRS or 3G - and they don't know if they support 3G phone or not.

Does this mean I have to reconnect with Vodafone or O2 if I want my email?

i have the same problem i got a blackberry pearl unlocked and am using it with vodafone pay as you go and FDN falure comes up when i go to send a sms txt i dont know what to do do you think if i get my sim changed would it work?

please help i paid so much for it!?
