Hi, I had the engineer in today and he set-up the satellite and its working. But the only problem I have now is that the SkyDSL box is not connecting to the internet. I have it plugged in correctly to the port and I type in the correct username and password for it to work but it won't connect. I have the error sheet that appeared.....
The skyDSL configuration data could not been received.
    Error code: 0x70003.
The modem could not establish a dialup connection to the Internet.

you seems to be sending encrypted password and / or username when you dial up

send clear text username and password instead in dial up networking .

    FFS :(

dial up networking or network connections ( if its vista then don't ask ,me :( )

right click on dial up icon for eircom

    select properties

    security

    select TYPICAL settings

    allow unsecured password

its already set that way...ive emailed the support, they havent gotten back to me yet. The engineer said they had this problem with some previous installations where they couldn't connect to dial-up internet through the skydsl box so he suggested to get another box. But I know if i did that ill end up waiting another month before it will arrive...

Is it the SkyDsl "thebox" you are using? the one with the ethernet port in it?

I hope your sitting down.........guaranteed the dial-up modem is gone faulty. I could put my left arm on it. I have seen it loads of times and that particular product is not out very long. Major flaw in them if you ask me.

i figured that would be the problem...they better give me a replacement that wont cost any extra...ive to go through the pain now of having to send it back to them...its been 2 months since i ordered it now ill have to wait alot longer!!!

As far as I know you will have to pay for posting it back over there. It will also be some weeks before they send out a replacement. They have to do all sorts of RMA stuff.

I've seen this problem, the modem lead was changed then the skydsl box conected ok! Failing that you can upgrade the firmware.
