Despite Ryan Payton already stating that Kojima Productions have no plans to release a demo of Metal Gear Solid 4 onto the Playstation network, Playstation World Magazine are reporting that a demo will indeed be available in Febuary. This is a UK magazine so the Feb date is most likely for the European Playstation Store.

    Update:

I e-mailed the editor of PSW and asked him to confirm that this is true, and he replied that a Konami Rep confirmed that the build they played will be on PSN sometime in relation to the games release. If the game stays on track as Konami has said so far then it should arrive around Feb as the magazine states.

    Original Reply:

    "Hi,

At the time of writing the article a Konami rep told us a demo, the demo we played in our office for the magazine article, would be on the PSN Store. It's finished, we played it, so something should be appearing this month. It could all depend on the game's final on sale date, if it has moved to May then a demo could appear later, possibly February.

Keep checking the mag, or our website www.computerandvideogames.com.

    Cheers,
    Ian"

Now let's hope for Konami to say something to make it official.

Personally if it was going to contain parts of the actual game id be inclined not to play it, wouldnt want to get into the game and then demo ends and left waiting 2mths+ to play it proper!!

Ah, memorys of buying Zone of the Enders for one reason only...

I, for one, would welcome my new addiction with open arms. But if it is the version the magazine editors and reviewers got to play, I think we already know what we're getting, content-wise. Or at least I don't thinking it will be quite the plot teaser as the MGS2 one was

(Though that didn't really turn out all that great... :()

The previous games were all fantastic examples of what the hardware they ran on could do. They were all full of innovations and this last title, MGS4, seems to have taken all the good things from previous games and made them better, ie. camo is a great idea which now is implemented more easily into the game. It also has gotten rid of, or at least improved some of the flaws, ie. moving in first person, codec messages skipable and rewindable etc.

Well, thats why I'm getting 'super excited' anyway!
