That'll teach you to go getting married to people.

I don't think I'll be down in time on Friday for pubbage, unfortunately. These newbies seem to have this bizarre idea that they need later buses to accommodate things like college and jobs. Amateurs...

I'll be there! I have el mondo drive-o from Sligo after work on Friday, so I should be rolling in around midnight - I'll expect a pint of Beamish waiting for me!

Actually, if anyone along my route wants to split the cost of petrol and get a lift instead of the evils of the bus, gimmie a shout.

Oh, and congrats AL][EN! This is my last Warpcon as a singleton - eep!

As much as id like to take her down to cork shopping we have an appointement with a few shops here in waterford for wedding rings suits stuff like that So alas i cant make it this year. Rest assured there will be much connage next year im taking a quick cat nap this year for the connage season so i cant make any cons this year at all. once the con season starts in 09 i'll be raring to go again.

muchos gracias on the thanks foz and the same to you my friend trust me its not so scary on the other side (or so im told)

And sarky can i ask is this their first year coming to warpcon? the people worried about getting later buses for things like ... work .... and food ... and stuff?

"Ready are they? What know them of ready? For eight hundred years have I trained geeks. My own counsel will I keep on who is to be trained. A geek must have the deepest commitment, the most serious mind. These ones a long time have I watched. All their life they have looked away... to the future, to the horizon. Never their minds on where they were. Hmm? What they were doing. Hmph. college. Heh. jobs. Heh. A geek craves not these things. they are reckless.”

Well that was quite, quite splendid. I can't actually remember the last time I had that much fun. Well, with my pants on, but that WAS stipulated in the brochure, wasn't it?

The attendance looked to be huge, and the atmosphere and buzz were really good, it seemed everyone was excited and happy to be there.

I had intended to play a few of the games, but that got kicked in the head when I got phoned to ask if I could run the Cthulhu game Saturday morning on my way in, and if I'd known that Gar's epic work involved a party of 6 which was made of 2 people from 3 different time periods I might have asked for more than 10 minutes to read over it... I was sort of in GM mode after that and ran another con game, and much fun was had. Thaed, I hope you were taking it handy, because your performance was a cakewalk compared to some of the players I've had try to break me... :)

The club was packed again, lots of meeting old friends, shouting, hugging, loudly proclaiming through song at the bar staff that "All we wanna do is eat your brains", more hugging, sitting, relaxing more friendshugginghappydrinkytalkylaughyfuntime. Oh yeah, and Fozzle decided that Igor Bars wasn't nearly hardcore enough and made a cake instead. It was magical. And composed of at least 15 different types of sugar.

Shame I had to leave earlier than intended, but, well, screwing with bus groups will do that.

Anyway, well done Warpcon guys, it was a blinder of a weekend!

Well you had agreed to run a game for me and started to do so despite the lack of sleep and lack of caffine in you system plus there was a CoC noob on the table so I didn't think it fair to try and break you when you were being such a gentleman.

I am looking to find a way to replay you :D

and could you be a dear and but the dates to Itzacon in the conage thread please.

I got to Cork, got to the con bougth ticket and went to the pub and joined in the pub quiz it was fun and drak rum and caught up with a lot of people which was great.

Dragged my ass out of bed and was washed dressed and breakfasted by 9:30am but alas by the time I got to the con all the tickets for the games were sold out but I asked if I could get a gm did they have the space for 1 more table and they did but looked shocked that I was saying not that I would gm but that I would get one.

1 short ( and I asume shocking on Sarky's behalf) phone call later I told them I had a gm and there were 4 of us who were going to play on his table and it was as if I had spouted another head.

Sarky arrived, we took out places and got him caffeine and started to play ( after the ranting of Sarky and him muttering about killing Gar who was running the table beside us.

The game was a lot of fun, the 3 James ( which I was one of) had one end of the table to ourselves and ran amok with amusing banter between ourselves and changed the time lines so much it made me sore from laughing.

Unfortunately our game did run on and when we went to get tickets for the afternoon game which we weren't' allowed to buy earlier they were all gone and there had not been an announcement that they had gone on sale.

In hindsight as the game that I had really wanted to play was Puppetland I should have offered to gm a session that is if there was spare table.
With the war games in the main hall this year there weren't many extra or free table for sitting and playing board games / card games.

The evening game was good but one of my freinds fell foul of the plot device and token female char which sucked and it was D&D which wasn't mentioned on the program and the spells were missing from the charsheets but we ploughed on and the gm was very much a great aid to this.

The con was busy I certainly did have fun and will be back next year.

Sounds extremely cool. im kicking myself (right now in fact) that i couldnt make it.
oooohhhh there will be a reckoning ...... mark my words .......

When, where, how is Itzacon? and are clothes optional?

You'll have to excuse me im a little jittery today I've had 3 red bull today trying to stay awake. Had little or no sleep over the weekend.

Weeeeeeee!!!!! Warpcon was fun, I don't think I've come down off my sugar/caffeine buzz yet. Work today was...... interesting.

Thaed, there were actually 3 gms and only 2 tables for Puppetland, so you would have been out of luck. We may be able to convince Nevina to run it again though - perhaps if we ply her with sugar and coffee at Itzacon she can be convinced and you'll get to play. It was an odd game.

Itzacon is on the 8th and 9th of March, and clothing is indeed optional*

It was a fun con. As a first timer at Warpcon, the size was impressive, the actual facility was amazing.

I thought a few of the games I was in could have done with more polish (and possibly with being written at least 6 hours in advance), but the GUBU LARP was a little bit of bottled madness, and some of the most fun I've had at a con.
