Has anyone got cruise control fitted to their car after they bought the car (aftermarket)?

Was just wondering how much it costs, and if there any garages do this economically - not something i would fit happily myself...

Have heard of it being added to some audi s but it would b the original factory system and they must have alot of what is required fitted from the factory as I imagine it would be complex otherwise. What type of car?

    Hi Ron,
I bought one in Florida about 9 years ago and fitted it to a Honda Accord. It cost about $80 then and worked till the car died. Not very difficult to fit.

My brother got one fitted on a Volkswagen by a main Tallaght dealer, But it never worked right

I think it matters a lot what type of car it is going on, as some of the newer cars cant be retrofitted as easily.

I have had it on every car since my 1985 Accord and I love it - not only on a motorway but also if you are pulling a trailer and want to keep the speed low

    Hi,

Was looking at changing my car and seen a few without Cruise Control, like the new VW Passat if you buy the Sport which has Climate control, but no Cruise Control, or a few A4's i have seen with no Cruise COntrol stock in the pictures...

Car model and make would help

or you might as well ask if you can buy a "dizzi cap for a blue car in spar"

I've heard of it being done on Golf basically you need a new stalk you fit this onto the steering column, a complex enough job as steering wheel and airbag
need to come off. To activate it you'll need VAGCOM.

I'd imagine its a similar job for and A4 or Passat

Have never had it fitted as aftermarket, but have have had it on past three cars. Have to say I never found much use for it here in Ireland.

On the economics, wonder if it it would even be be worth it.
