    hi michael,
i did a summer camp in italy last summer. it was good for me because i didnt want to commit to a lengthy contract doing tefl incase i didnt end up liking it!
the company was called ACLE they have a website. the application process is very lengthy u have to email lesson plans etc and go through 2 stages of applications!
i worked for two weeks in august the last camp of the summer, but if u apply early u can go from one camp to another every two weeks or month until the kids go back to school. included is a 4day tefl training, end of which u get a qualification and a reference. training is VERY intensive and long hours but its only 4 days and then u get sent off to different areas of italy to the camps.
i got sent to treviso (near venice) and had to stay with a family there. initially i wanted to live in an apartment (which is availiable also) but i have to say the family made the whole experience for me, they were just fantastic, and u really get a taste of italian life. pay was 300 a week, which u get at end of camp. i didnt put my hand in my pocket the whole 2weeks, family paid for everthing!
Acle base their camps on learning through fun, and it is not classroom based, u have to be prepared to do a lot of dancing around and singing ( its a very americanised way!) some of the stuff i was doing i just thought oh god if my friends ever saw me i would be mortified!!
its hard going but i would recommend it and hey i may even go back this summer. let me know if u want any more info and how u get on in finding a course!

Lots of summer jobs are advertised on tefl.com, I think that's how I found my Italian summer job, though it was a few years ago.

hey! i have applied for the ACLE thing and i've gotten through to the second stage of application, just wondering if you have any advice for me as regards the rest of the application process? and also if i'm accepted i want to stay as long as i can, like for at least 2 months, but as far as i can see theres no guarantee that i'll be able to stay that long... so i'm afraid i'll work for like 3/4 weeks and then i'll have to go home!! help! thanks!

Hey guys I've worked at a camp in America a few years ago.You will find stuff on CCUSA for the American ones and the process is just filling in a form and an informal interview.Other then hat just your visa interview with the consulate...Hope you all have a great time, I loved it!
