Just wondering if anybody was recieving the DVB trials in Malahide or the surrounding areas? And if so are you recieving from Three Rock or Claremont Cairn?

    Thanks

Live in Donabate, although not part of the trail, I can get all channels, though cant see the encrypted ones.

House faces north/south and I have a small uhf aerial in the attic, joined into my NTL MMDS cable. Signal strength used to be 100% but its but to about 75% at the moment.

TV is a LG42LC or something like that with a built in digital tuner. Can see RTE1 RTE2 TV3 and TG4.

Thanks.. Are you trying to receive from 3R or CC?

Yep I'm in Malahide, receiving loud and clear. We're in a bit of a dip and my aerial is no more than 5m high. Don't know what it's receiving from but it's pointed South and is horizontal - does that help?

    Hi,
    living in Donabate. Receiving CC.
    Grid aerial with masthead amp.
Have Humax box. I am part of the trial.
Also have philips PF5521D that I can use the card to unencrypt the SD digital stations. since it does not ahve a HD digital tuner it cannot receive the HD1080 channel.

Am in Malahide also - Swords Road area. Can I check whereabouts you are and whether the 5m aerial was necessary. Did any internal aerial work for you at all?

    TIA

    re Malahide reception:

I can pick it up (just) on a laptop with a usb dtt thingy with a small indoor aerial - the one that comes with the usb.

For the main use I just have a uhf aerial purchased in B&Q - I think the brand is maxview, it's a cheap thing but quite a few elements. It is mounted on a pole in the back garden about 3m or a bit more higher. Our garden is adjoining the railway and is below it so I would guess the aerial is about the height of the tracks. There is a masthead amplifier as well (again a cheap one).

Where you are I'm guessing is a good bit higher than that so should not be a problem. Make the aerial horizontal (fins pointing left and right) and aim the skinny end south.

    Best of Luck - D
