Hey lads just have one or twelve questions would love some help with

I am thinking of getting an external dvd writer for my laptop and part of me thinking about getting this instead of an external hdd is wanting to watch what i burn to dvd on my xbox 360. Now i know it doesnt play divx (or so i have read) so what format would i have to burn to in order for this to work? Or will it work at all?

Would it be better to get the media centre thing instead?

    Cheers for any help

The XBox 360 now has DivX support. However, burning movies to DVD will soon get tiresome, and with blu-ray starting to take off, you might be best off holding off on a dvd writer. Hard-drive prices have fallen dramatically, so I'd recommend picking up an external which you can use for your media.

If you have the benjamins, look into a NAS DLNA server. It's a harddrive that you connect to your network, and it will serve media automagically to your 360.

DivX support was only added in the last update. WMV is also supported, not sure what else...
