My laptop calved and I need another one ASAP. looking for something with good graphics, hdd space and fast processor for games, encoding video files DJing etc. I see Dells XPS M1330 on offer for e997. (Add at least 40% by the time its customised) can anyone recommend anything else? whats the delivery time on these things? also is there such thing as a laptop with dual sound cards? cheers.

The dual sound cards, you could get a laptop with on board sound, then purchase a PCMCIA sound card to use (I have the name of one in my head but its escaped me) as your second one. Although I dont know if the second add-in card would override the functionality of the onboard sound and reder it useless.
As for the laptop itself, why not check out the Vostro range of laptops as they're highly customiseable and may have something better suited to your needs (and your pocket!)

edit: Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS PCMCIA Sound card!, its too early for my brain.

If you get a laptop with surround sound some dj software will allow you to use the front and rear outputs seperately. I beleive the latest vesion of BPM studio does. The audigy in the post above will do the same job and it's a decent card.

Lots of ram and fastest processor you can get, Hard drive not that important as you could use an external disk for your music. Vista may cause you some problems on the software front.

something like this yoke http://www.cdrinfo.com/Sections/Reviews/Specific.aspx?ArticleId=20197 works with BPM Studio allowing you to use separate faders on your mixer for player A and B.

Using the headphone type socket is a very bad idea due to the physical connection being flimsy. Add to that the constant plugging/unplugging, a certain NO NO. USB is that lil bit more sturdy.
