    IMDB

    Just wondering if anyone has ever seen this show before? I had started to lose hope for cartoons until I started to watch it. It's simply an amazing show; so full of feeling, and wonder, and myth but also somewhat based in history (
    notably the character Xin from Avatar Day. Based on the first Chinese emperor, for whom China is named after
    )

    Also, it has the best soundtrack I have heard on a cartoon in a long time. If you haven't seen/heard of it, you should check it out.

    For those who have seen it, my favourite episodes are the end of Season 1, Cave of Secret Lovers and Tales of Ba SingSee (
    Iroh's tale moreso.. so, so sad and sweet
    )

    Yeah, absolutely love this show. Its so difficult waiting patiently for each new episode now, especially since they dont seem to be making massive headway with the main arc. It was so much better when I got 2 seasons together and I could really savour the filler episodes...

    My favourites so far are definitely; The Blind Bandit, and the 2nd episode in the mid-season 2 parter in season 3. I cant be sure of the name, might of been the eclipse but it contained
    the amazing Earth Kingdom Battle Tanks and a surprise visit from all the great characters in the show, as well as the not so great ones :)

    Yep, its up there with Batman: The Animated Series as my favourite cartoon ever! :D I totally adore the characters and the animation is flawless. The voice acting is top notch and the dialogue is (mostly) excellent. I have to applaud the writers for continuing with their epic storyline, even though its considered a kids cartoon (and one of the few to require a "previously on" at the start of each episode!). While the first few eps were a bit kiddy, I think the tone of the show got more adult as it went on (some eps of season 3 were downright depressing!:().

    And yes, I totally agree, the music is fantastic (PM me if you'd like some samples!;)). I'd love to see an offical soundtrack (but somehow I doubt it).

    As much as I enjoyed season 1, I thought season 2 was miles better. The characters were more complex and the storylines moved along at a fantastic pace. I'd rather wait till the end of season 3 to call it (considering its just over halfway through), but so far I'm not enjoying it as much as season 2. Maybe its just the torturous wait between each episode thats nagging me. :rolleyes:

    In the meantime, I'm rewatching the first two seasons on dvd. I got the boxset of both from the States for a very reasonable price on DvdPacific. I'd rather have waited for an R2 boxset, but they havent even finished releasing the single discs of season 1 yet!!

    My fav episodes would have to be:
    Season 1: Jet, The Blue Spirit, The Siege of the North
    Season 2: The Blind Bandit, Zuko Alone, Tales of Ba Sing Se
    Season 3: The Avatar and the Firelord, The Puppetmaster (SUCH a freaky ep!!).

    I'm really glad other people like this show. Yet I'd be very amazed if they don't release an OST, mainly because they've got some really catchy songs like "Little Soldier Boy" and "Caves of the Secret Lovers". Alongside some amazing backing-tracks, which are better than most movies recently.

    On a similar note, I thought the ending to Season One was better than most movies/television shows in recent years. Such an epic story, and I do agree that the characters have grown so much better, with the addition of newer characters (I'm only 1/2 way through season 2) fitting in perfectly.

    I came across an online petition for the Avatar soundtrack here

    im not big into cartoons/anamie. But i was shocked and suprised to see this at the no.1 spot on a few TV websites and now its mentioned on boards...

    The only cartoons/anamie i enjoyed where.

    Gigiantor (ye i know but i mean comeon how many many many years old is that now?)

    Those Star Wars cartoons that came out before ep3

    I absoutly loved Death Note, but thats about it as cartooons/anamie stuff go. Never really my thing. Considering the cartoons i like is it worth me taking a look at this show?

    EDIT: lol i almost forgot that i like simpsons/family guy/american dad/south park/futurama

    Yep its worth a shot, User. Watch the first 3 or 4 and make up your mind (it gets better and better as it goes along, so if you like those, you're in for a treat....)

    Not to pull this off topic, but I've JUST started watching Death Note myself and have loved every minute of it so far! Up to ep 12 I think. And normally most anime doesnt appeal to me!

    And the Star Wars Clone Wars cartoons were excellent. FAR FAR better than the live action movies they were made to bridge :rolleyes:

    While I liked them all, I think you'd have to hang in past the first five episodes. Once you get to episode 6 "Imprisoned", its less kiddy, you start to forget its a cartoon and the story starts to take shape, so dont write it off before then! ;)

    Have you seen the live action version of Gigantor ?

    Anyone know when avatar is back on, there's no date on tv.com, I hope they aren't waiting for the live action film by M N Shyamalan to be released at the same time.

    Heres a question;

    will spoiler it, just in case.
    Toph is blind, right? And yet in some instances, she does things that can only be done by someone who isn't. One particular occurance in Season 3, is when the Avatar is swimming. Toph says something like, "you shouldn't be baring yourself like that", to which he replies, "i'm wearing trunks". She then says about his arrows showing.

    How did she know about his arrows showing? I know she can feel things through Earthbending, yet in an episode (perhaps the Serpents Pass) it's said that she doesn't like water, as she cannot "see".

    Any thoughts? If this is going to spoil something for me, never mind ha ha.

    I kinda assumed she was just being cheeky. That she already knew about the arrow tattoos and that when he went swimming she knew he wouldn't be wearing a lot and just said that to make a joke.
