Long story short - i was in hospital a few months back, and got chatty with the surgeons second-in-command, this babe called Lisa. i had my ipod with me to kill the boredom naturally and we got chatting about music. So, she tells me shes really been getting back into 90's music, and not the fashionable 80's music that has become so in vogue for the last few years. So, I'm back in to hospital for follow-up procdre nxt week and i wanna make her a CD, ask for her phone number, take her out, back to hers, raise a few kids, white picket fence...... etc
Wanna know what tunes you would put on the CD if u were in my place.... What song from the 90's gets a smile on your face...

I have 10 picked but would be interested in hearing other peeps - Will reveal mine at end of thread.........Muchos Obligos, in anyways..

If you were to put Pearl Jam on it, I'd say put Alive on it. Maybe also:

    Unintended by Muse(may 00's though)
    Nothing Else Matters by Metallica

Thats about all I can think of, most others are mentioned.

Nope it sneaks in as a 1999 tune, and a top one at that.

If you go with whipping boy, dont put we dont need nobody else on it despite it being a great tune. Potential better halves do not want to hear lyrics like "I hit you for the first time today, I didnt mean it, it just happened" spoken in a matter of frank kind of way.
That said, Whipping Boy's "Twinkle" would be an excellent choice.
    *wanders off to find heartworm*

Also if you're looking for the cringeworthy- Mr. Big "To be with you"
Try and find the Ginger and Paul Gilbert live version to save some dignity

Did you see whipping boy on the late late years ago when fergal went up to the front row and whispered 'i hit you for the first time today', they collectively kacked their pants. i have it on vhs somewhere at home, absolutley brilliant. My choice:

From the Bench at Belvedere: Boo Radleys
    Henry VIII: supergrass
    This is a low: blur
    Tonight, tonight: Smashing Pumpkins
Wrecking Ball: Neil Young and Emmylou Harris (i heard this in the 90's cant find it anywhere though).
Let's Get Falling Down: The Revenants

and watching No Disco religiously when it was on.

was that not Richard 3rd by supergrass?

I think that Emmylou song is on her live album, spy *something*
it was on one of the old uncut alt country cds back in the day!

No disco rocked. Mitcheners - cars, Sons of Silence - bobby dazzler were from that period too. they played a bit too much david gray and cranberries though.

True it was richard 3rd, i'm always getting my Dicks mixed up.

They played shine by David Gray nearly every night, that was before he became ginormous. I remember Neil Hannon doing an acoustic version of Lucy on it. Very cool. It made it onto the fab fifty for a few years. Lovely song.
