Anyone know this town in the Vendee ? We're looking at a campsite on the edge of the town (Les Dunes de sable) and would appreciate any informed comments on either the town or the campsite ! Thanks,

les sables d'olonnes is a lovely small town (which can get very busy in the summer). the "cote sauvage" is miles and miles of beach and dunes where it's so easy even in the middle of summer to find a beach just for you. towns get very busy in summer but everywhere else is great. don't know anything about the camping though

I spent many many summers there as a child and loved it:)
Les Pirons is the name of the camp site that we stayed at and I can not fault it.
It has been a good few years since I was there but I can't imagine much has changed there.

We are new to the campsite thing so not sure how to choose one. Is Les Pirons within walking distance of the town? And do you remember what the mobiles/chalets are like? Thanks for your help!

I Don't think the had mobile homes that people could hire there but times change so they might do now.

We always had out bikes with us there but the Beach is about 5 minutes away and town is within walking distance maybe about 15 minutes though.

apparently the do have mobile homes there.

It is usually in the french camping guide books or if you google a bit you may find more info.
